EVANS hygroscopic preparatory liquid.

This liquid is made to clean all the cooling system to remove all the water present in the systems.
It can be use several times.
This Evans liquid prepares the cooling system to add the waterless coolant.

Capacity: 2L

The Hawk PowerSports R 2L Waterless Cooling Fluid is designed for street bikes, sport bikes, and race bikes. Its formulation is particularly suited for motorcycle engines primarily constructed of aluminum and also containing steel and copper components.

On a sport bike or a motorcycle used intensively, the engine and cooling system can be subjected to significant thermal stress. Hawk PowerSports R is water-free and has a boiling point above 180°C. It thus significantly reduces localized boiling and vapor formation in the hottest areas of the engine.

The 2-liter container makes it easy to adjust the quantity of cooling fluid to fit the smaller volume of motorcycle cooling systems or to top off the necessary quantity.

Benefits of Hawk PowerSports R cooling fluid

• Designed specifically formotorcycles: formulated for street, sport, and racing motorcycles.
• Suitable for high-performance engines: specifically designed for engines primarily made of aluminum with steel and copper components.
• Water-free operation: eliminates problems directly associated with the presence of water in the system.
• Boiling point above 180°C: significantly reduces vapor formation when the engine is subjected to high temperatures.
• Freezing point below -40°C: no additional antifreeze is required.
• 75% lower vapor pressure: reduces stress on hoses, gaskets, and system components, according to Hawk.
• Reduced cavitation erosion: Hawk reports a 75% reduction compared to water-based fluids.
• Corrosion protection: According to Hawk, the absence of water eliminates oxidative corrosion.
• Limited hot spots: Reduced vapor formation helps keep the fluid in contact with metal surfaces under high thermal stress.
• Water pump protection: Reduced cavitation helps limit erosion of cooling system components.
• Extremely long operating time: Hawk’s water-free coolant is designed to remain in the system for an extended period when not contaminated by water.

Important: Prepare the system before switching to PowerSports R

Converting to Hawk PowerSports R requires proper preparation of the cooling system if the motorcycle contains or has contained a water-based cooling fluid. Simply draining the system may leave water in the engine, radiator, hoses, and various passages of the cooling system.

The system must therefore be prepared using Hawk Prep Fluid 5L. Thanks to its hygroscopic properties, this preparation fluid removes residual water before the final fill with PowerSports R.

After conversion, Hawk recommends that the residual water content be ideally 3% or less. This value can be checked using a refractometer.

For which motorcycles should Hawk PowerSports R be used?

Hawk PowerSports R is Hawk’s formula designed for street bikes and race bikes. It is particularly well-suited for engines primarily made of aluminum, with steel and copper components.

It is therefore suitable for sport bikes, modified bikes, track bikes, and competition machines, as well as compatible street bikes where the owner wishes to convert the cooling system to waterless technology.

Do not confuse PowerSports R with PowerSports. PowerSports R is designed for street and racing motorcycles, while the other PowerSports formulation is geared toward applications such as motocross, trial, enduro, and ATVs.

Why switch a motorcycle to a waterless cooling fluid?

Sport motorcycle engines often combine high specific power output, high engine revs, and a compact design. Under certain conditions—particularly on the track or during intensive use—the cooling system can therefore be subjected to extreme stress.

With a standard cooling fluid, steam can form locally in the hottest areas of the engine. These pockets of steam reduce direct contact between the cooling fluid and metal surfaces, decreasing the efficiency of heat transfer and promoting the development of localized hot spots.

Thanks to its boiling point exceeding 180°C, Hawk PowerSports R significantly limits this phenomenon. The cooling fluid remains in contact with metal surfaces at temperatures at which a standard cooling fluid might begin to generate vapor.

The elimination of water also helps combat oxidation-induced corrosion and reduces cavitation. These properties help preserve the components of the cooling system, particularly when the engine is regularly subjected to demanding operating conditions.

Less Pressure and Cavitation in the System

Hawk reports a vapor pressure 75% lower than that of water-based cooling fluids. This characteristic helps reduce the stress placed on hoses, gaskets, and other system components.

Hawk also claims a 75% reduction in cavitation erosion. Cavitation can particularly affect components subjected to rapid fluid flow, making its reduction especially beneficial for the water pump.

Evans PowerSports R Becomes Hawk PowerSports R

Evans Waterless Cooling Fluid is now known as Hawk Waterless Cooling Fluid. The former Evans PowerSports R waterless cooling fluid is now marketed under the name Hawk PowerSports R.

This is a rebranding; the product formulation remains unchanged. If you previously used Evans PowerSports R in your motorcycle, you can now find this same formulation under the Hawk brand.

GT2i is an official retailer of Hawk Waterless Coolants and offers waterless cooling fluids as well as the products needed to prepare the cooling system.

How do you convert a motorcycle to Hawk PowerSports R?

The first step is to drain as much of the old cooling fluid as possible. The system must then be flushed to remove any water remaining in the engine after draining.

Use the 5L Hawk Prep Fluid to perform this preparation. Once its job is done, the Prep Fluid must be drained before the final fill with PowerSports R.

Hawk PowerSports R is then used undiluted, without water. It must never be intentionally mixed with water, as this reduces the benefits associated with a waterless cooling fluid.

FAQ - Hawk PowerSports R 2L Waterless Cooling Fluid

For which motorcycles is Hawk PowerSports R recommended?
PowerSports R is designed for street bikes, sport bikes, and racing bikes. It is particularly suitable for engines primarily made of aluminum with steel and copper components.

Why choose the 2-liter size?
The 2L size is particularly convenient for motorcycle cooling systems, which generally have a smaller capacity than those of a car. It also allows you to adjust the quantity needed when using multiple containers.

What is the difference between Hawk PowerSports R and PowerSports?
PowerSports R is designed for street, sport, and racing motorcycles. The PowerSports formula is more suited for motocross, trial, enduro, and ATVs.

Why use a water-free coolant in a sport motorcycle?
The absence of water helps reducelocal boiling, vapor formation, oxidative corrosion, and cavitation. These characteristics are particularly beneficial when the engine is subjected to significant thermal stress.

Should Prep Fluid be used before Hawk PowerSports R?
Yes, if the cooling system contains or has contained a water-based cooling fluid. Hawk Prep Fluid 5L helps remove residual water before the final fill.

What quantity of water can remain after the conversion?
Hawk recommends that the residual water content ideally be 3% or less. A refractometer can be used to check this value.

Can Hawk PowerSports R be mixed with water?
No. PowerSports R should never be intentionally diluted with water. The presence of water gradually reduces the benefits intended with a waterless cooling fluid.

Can water be added in an emergency?
Yes, but only as a temporary fix when it is impossible to top off the water level with Hawk fluid. This solution must remain temporary. You will then need to drain the system and perform a complete system flush with Prep Fluid before switching back to the waterless coolant.

Should antifreeze be added to PowerSports R?
No. Its freezing point is below -40°C. No additional antifreeze should be added.

Does PowerSports R help protect the water pump?
Reduced cavitation helps limit erosion of system components, particularly the water pump. Hawk claims a 75% reduction in cavitation-induced erosion compared to water-based fluids.

Are Evans PowerSports R and Hawk PowerSports R the same product?
Yes. Evans Waterless Coolants has become Hawk Waterless Coolants. The former Evans PowerSports R is now called Hawk PowerSports R. The formulation remains unchanged.
