In this category, we offer the GT2i selection of the best brake hoses on the market. In motor sports, heavy braking subjects brake hoses to high pressures and temperatures.
Most cars are equipped with conventional rubber brake hoses that do not withstand pressure, weather conditions and ageing very well. Over time, rubber-based materials become porous and more easily deformable. Over time, this leads to sealing problems. First, moisture penetrates the hoses and contaminates the brake fluid, and eventually leaks can occur. Brake fluid also ages, and the presence of moisture is dangerous for hoses because when you brake, the fluid heats up, and once it reaches 100°C, the moisture turns into vapour, which causes two problems.
First, instead of compressing the brake fluid, you compress the water vapour (gas), resulting in poor braking and a soft pedal.
Secondly, an old rubber hose will swell under pressure, so the force applied to the brake pedal will serve to inflate the hose rather than pressing the brake pads against the discs or activating the drums.
These hoses are therefore clearly not ideal for extreme use in competition, so it is advisable to replace them with aviation brake hoses made of reinforced Teflon and reinforced on the outside with stainless steel braiding. By choosing a brake hose from our range, you can ensure the safety of your braking system and unleash the full potential of your vehicle without damaging it.
In our category, you will find a list of different aviation brake hoses sold by the metre. By combining them with our range of hydraulic fittings, you can create your own brake hoses and guarantee an optimal and durable connection between your pedal and your brake calipers or drums. We also have a range of pre-assembled hoses specific to a wide range of vehicles. Please ask our advisors if your vehicle is not listed. We also offer rigid copper brake hoses for replacing your rigid brake system. Manufactured by our partner GOODRIDGE, you can be sure that when you buy an aviation brake hose, you will be able to push your sports car to its limits for optimal rally or circuit driving.
It is strongly recommended that you replace your brake fluid with a high-performance fluid when draining the system to change your brake hoses. As bleeding allows air to enter your brake system, we strongly recommend that you bleed the system thoroughly and repeatedly over the following days to remove all air.
For cars equipped with ABS, a procedure for bleeding the ABS unit is available in your vehicle's workshop manual.
