Bujii NGK cu platină sunt dotate cu un electrod central din platină, precum și cu un electrod de masă din același material. Utilizarea platinei permite prelungirea duratei de viață a bujiei de aprindere și menținerea unor performanțe constante, chiar și în condiții de utilizare intensă. Dimensiunea redusă a electrodului permite reducerea tensiunii utile și optimizează arderea.
