Description

This dump valve was designed for the 1.6 turbo Peugeot/BMW engines, which equip the Peugeot 207/307/308 GT Turbo and BMW Mini Cooper S Turbo R56/57 equipped with the N14 engines. The most common feedback on the stock electronic dump valve is the crack in the diaphragm, which prevents the valve from opening completely, or opening at all. This does not trigger the engine light to come on all the time because the valve can be opened by the turbo pressure. This is a very common problem (see photo). The other common problem is that the spring cover is made of very thin plastic that becomes brittle over time, and eventually gives way. This prevents the diaphragm from being sealed and also causes the problems described above. This failure can also cause the dump valve to break when removing the turbo; In extreme cases, pieces of plastic can enter the turbo and destroy it. This kit offers a completely redesigned solution to provide better reliability. Their valve is made entirely of aluminum and works with a piston (which does not break unlike the diaphragm), it replaces the original component with a piston that works at pressure/vacuum that also retains control of the standard ECU on the valve. This dump valve has been tested on vehicles for many years. The spring is interchangeable for different turbo pressure levels, and the solenoid plugs directly into the included harness connector.
