ACL Race Series HX STD Connecting Rod Bushes for BMW B58, S58 – Toyota GR Supra
The ACL Race Series 6B1510HX-STD connecting rod bushes are designed for BMW B58B30 and S58B30 3.0-liter turbo engines, as well as for the Toyota GR Supra equipped with the B58 engine. This HX version maintains a standard (STD) crankshaft dimension while providing an additional 0.001 inch of oil clearance, or approximately 0.025 mm.
Unlike a repair size intended to compensate for crankshaft resurfacing, the HX-STD configuration is used with crankshaft journals that retain their standard sizes. ACL reduces the thickness of the bearings to increase the operating clearance between the crankshaft and the connecting rod bushes.
This feature provides engine tuners with a specific solution when oil clearance greater than that achieved with 6B1510H-STD bearings is desired. The HX part number is thus suitable for mountings where internal clearances are precisely defined based on the engine build, operating conditions, and oiling system specifications.
As with any engine bearing mounting, the HX version should not be selected based solely on power output. The rod journal diameter and the actual oil clearance must be measured during assembly to confirm that the additional 0.025 mm of clearance meets the engine builder’s specifications.
