Les bougies d'allumage NGK IRIDIUM possèdent une pointe en Iridiumsur l'électrode centrale et une électrode de masse en Platine. C'est la technique la plus aboutie qui s'appuie sur la résistance à la l'érosion et à la fusion de l'Iridium. Une bougie NGK Iridium dure en moyenne 2 fois plus longtemps qu'une bougie standard. Ne pas confondre avec la gamme NGK IX qui ne possède que l'électrode centrale en platine.
