Ignition cables are special cables designed to connect the ignition coil to the various spark plugs. NGK ignition cables are specially designed for each vehicle. They comply with the manufacturer's standards, and their dimensions are chosen for perfect integration into your vehicle. Reactive resistance" ignition cables, like this one, consist of a fiberglass core supporting a magnetically conductive silicone sheath, wound with stainless steel wire. This technology works on the principle of a coil. An induction voltage is generated by an electromagnetic flux that creates the high voltage in the cable core. The magnetic field varies within the cable, while the coiled steel wire absorbs or compensates for the energy generated by the cable. Hence the name reactive technology: it reacts to the current flowing through the cable. This core is covered and insulated by two layers of silicone rubber and a layer of fiberglass. The outer insulation is also made of silicone rubber, resistant to temperatures up to 220°C and to oil and gasoline. Resistance can vary from 2.2 to 8 kilo-ohms.
